The Orange Garden
A Landmark for National Healing

From Profound Pain a Sanctuary of Life is Born

Dedicated to the Bibas Family and the Children of October 7th

We are embarking on a historic national initiative: The Orange Garden, A sanctuary for healing, built through unity, growth, and unwavering hope.

The story of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas touched the heart of the entire world, becoming an indelible symbol of the pain and shattered reality of October 7th.

From this place of darkness, The Orange Garden was born, not as an effort to erase the pain, but as a courageous choice for life and Tikkun (repair). We are not seeking to hide the cracks; we are gently gathering the shards to create a new wholeness.

This is a space where healing doesn’t stop life, it connects people and cultivates hope.

The plans are ready. We now need you to help turn this land into a garden of life. Every contribution becomes a tree in the ground, a path for a child, and a beacon of hope that will remain for generations.

Vantata is Israel’s leading environmental-social movement, dedicated to healing Israeli society through nature and a deep connection to the land. Our “City-Forest” vision transforms urban centers into green, shaded, and restorative spaces.

About Vantata (NPO)

In times of pain and uncertainty, born from a deep longing for home, for green gardens, and for shading trees, an opening has emerged for a profound connection—between people, between communities, and with the land in which we are rooted. It is a symbol that even out of pain, we know how to unite and grow life.

For the past six years, the Vantata association has been active throughout Israel, from north to south, planting thousands of trees and establishing hundreds of therapeutic gardens within rehabilitation and welfare institutions, schools, and community centers. These centers serve populations at risk and communities in crisis: the elderly and Holocaust survivors, youth at risk, new immigrants, people with special needs, veterans with PTSD, survivors of sexual assault, those coping with mental health challenges, and individuals undergoing healing and rehabilitation processes.

Since October 7th, the association has expanded its activities, launching the “Admot Bracha” (Blessed Lands) project. This initiative focuses on restoring the landscape and environment in damaged communities and establishing dozens of nature-based healing spaces in the heart of war-affected communities—both in the Gaza envelope and the North, as well as in the areas where residents have been evacuated.

Venatata is the winner of the 2023 Israel Earth Prize, for its positive impact on the environment and society in Israel.

Frequently Asked Questions

The garden is part of a larger municipal initiative to honor the Bibas family, including the naming of Bibas Street and the “Ariel” and “Kfir” preschools currently under construction. By placing the garden here, we ensure it is a living, accessible part of a community. The municipality has committed to the long-term upkeep of the site.

Yes. The project is being carried out in full coordination and with the heartfelt support and involvement of the Bibas family throughout every stage of planning and establishment.

While the Bibas family represents a universal symbol of the tragedy, the heart of the garden features the “Spring Rock”—a memorial space dedicated to all the children lost on October 7th. We are actively reaching out to families to ensure their loved ones are honored in this living memorial.

We have completed the detailed planning phase. Once the fundraising goal is met, we will begin construction immediately. We estimate the garden will open to the public within approximately two years.
